cars 1939 chevrolet "burbank beach patrol"

I bought this car on a lark, just for the fun of it, because it was only $50.
I customized it with a flat black primer paint job from spray cans.
I added a racoon tail and painted a door logo, "Burbank Beach Patrol," for the fun of it.
Burbank is in the San Fernando Valley, forty-five minutes from the beach.

The ignition had no key... I put in a wall switch under the dash... but we still had to push start it and pop the clutch.

Since it was so undependable, it was only good for a few trips around town and cruising Bob's Big Boy on a Friday nights.
I was always afraid I was going to be stopped and inspected by the police... it never was.
I don't think it ever made it to the beach.
But, it was a lot of fun for the laughs it got.

I sold it for $25..."
