When I go fishing off the shore on Alsea Bay, Waldport, I hope to catch a Salmon during their annual run.
When I fish off the rocks in front of the house, or off a dock in Canada, I never know what, if anything, I will catch.
Besides Salmon, I have hooked Sea Perch, Ling Cod, Crabs, Bullheads, and many other small fish.
My first experiences fishing off the rocks was in 1971 when I was building my first house in Yachats.
Later, I hit the Alsea Bay along with all the other locals to try and catch a migrating Salmon.
