personal interests sports baseball and softball
I began playing softball at an early age in the Burbank Police Athletic League where I pitched and played second base.
I was the first to introduce the windmill pitch in that league and had to deal with several confused umpires.
In later years, I played recreational baseball and softball and coached my children and others in the sport.
Later, when my son Ryan played at Waldport High School, I was a volunteer assistant coach.
