travel asia japan tokyo senso-ji buddhist temple

Also known as Asakusa Kannon, Senso-ji Temple, is located in the Shita-Machi district, the colorful "commoners quarters" of old Edo,
home of the untouchable castes of old Japan and center for entertainment including a low-end red light district.
Today, the long arcade to the entrance is mostly covered with a glass roof and is one long marketplace of gifts, souvenirs, and food bars.
