travel europe germany bavaria oberammergau

Oberammergau is a town on the Ammer River in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany.
Oberammergau is the home of the famous Passion Play that has been going on for 380 years and, now, only occurs every ten years in years ending in zero.
People come from all over the world to see this play that is put on by locals as a promise to God for sparing them from the plague.
We never did get to see the play, but we have enjoyed visiting this beautiful little town which is also known for it's wood carving.
