ARCHITECTS: CHRISTIAN JANK, EDUARD RIEDEL, GEORG VON DOLLMANN, LEO VON KLENZE, JULIUS HOFMANN (1886)

King Ludwig's famous Neuschwanstein (new-swan-stone) Castle uses the swan theme from Ludqig's favorite, Richard Wagner's opera.
The story of King Ludwig's life is legend... his seemingly crazy compulsion to spend money of castles, and his mysterious death drowning in the local lake.
Although photography is not allowed in the castle, there are many good views available of the castle from surrounding areas like the Marienbrucke.
