Linderhof is another of Ludwig's castles, this one he considered a "hunting lodge."
We visited it in 1991 with the kids in tow and the area was beautiful and the snow made it even more interesting.
I only wish I had had a higher resolution camera with me in those days to get photos inside in the low light.
