This old craftsman's house just outside what was the first city wall is now a museum.
We are told that coopers lived here from about 1300 to 1500.
Yarn dyers owned the house from about 1510 to 1680, weavers from 1681 to 1724, and shoemakers from 1724 to 1802.
Later, the house was occupied by a tinker, potter, basket maker, soap maker, plasterer, pewterer, and bricklayer.
For a small fee (3 Euros) you can tour this ancient house and see a nice collection of old tools, furniture, and household items.
As an architect, I was most fascinated by the construction of the house with it's low ceilings, leaning walls, and a private well.
While the rooms have a nice collection of more recent historic items, except for the kitchen, the rooms seemed interchangable.
The exhibits were however nicely presented and the lady who hosts the house was very pleasant and did a good job explaining the exhibit and answering our questions in English.
