travel italy liguria region portofino

The little, high scale, harbor town west of Santa Margherita Liguere is a favorite of photographers.
It is cleanly defined by a cleft in the coastly hills and its small harbor.
Like similarly situated towns that I rate highly for their visual completness, it has nature-defined site lines
that allow you to take it in as a whole entity without the distractions of adjoining towns and areas.
Although there is an "underground" garge here, it is not easy to find affordable parking.
Still, its well worth the trouble to see this "poster" town.
