Riomaggiore has beautiful picturesque waterfront on the Mediterranean's Gulf of Genoa where the main street continues down into the harbor.
Walking up hill along Via Colombo is enjoyable, but the action is at the waterfront.
If you follow Via Colombo up above the harbor, you pass through a tunnel and up some steps.
Here you will find the commercial district with shops, grocery stores, and ristorantes.
If you keep going up hill you will come to a church and mostly residential structures.
The further you go up the hill you will find some automobiles and eventually the coastal hiway.
