travel united states california big sur nepenthe

Nepenthe has existed as long as I can remember traveling the Big Sur coastline.
Now days, the location features a restaurant, a gift shop, and a terrace cafe on a high point of land above the sea.
The Nepenthe restaruant itself sits above the shop and cafe and features panoramic views of the Big Sur coastline.
There are a couple areas of patio for outdoor seating as well as indoor dining area with central fireplace.
The large entry patio features a phoenix sculpture, fire pit, and a railing tables with fantastic views.
In what used to be stark contrast to the often sloppy and unkept hippie culture of the 60s, the grounds are beautifully maintained.
The food is a bit pricey, but very good...on a beautiful sunny clear Spring or Winter, breeze-laden day, the view and ambiance is more than worth it.
