ARCHITECT: TRUMAN O. ANGELL (1871)

The Mormon/Seventh Day Adventice Temple, completed in 1877, is located southeast of the central area of "downtown" St. George.
Volunteers who visit from other areas on a "mission" lead free tours of the interior of the Tabernacle.
Unlike the Tabernacle, visitors are not aloud inside the Temple.
Like the Tabernacle, the Temple features very simple, clean, lines... a bright white against the deep blue sky.
We had a history introduction in the Visitors Center by Elder Card, a relative of author Orson Scott Card, who was very pleasant and knowledgeable.
We learned how a twelve foot by twelve foot crushed volcanic rock was compacted for a foundation using an old ceremonial cannon filled with lead.
