travel europe germany north rhine-westphalia lippstadt around lippstadt

Lippstadt feels like a fairly contemporary town in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
We walked around a bit downtown and our hosts took us to a local pub for a taste of their specialty, a beer with pineapple.
There is a nice, modern sculpture fountain downtown.
Lippstadt is the headquarters of Hella automotive supplies.
Our hosts also took us to a nice, family run, restaurant for some great German food.

Bar sink, Lippstadt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, 1994.
As a non-drinker, this was my first exposure to this piece of plumbing in the men's room of the bar.
I know Germans were known to enjoy their beer.....but....
This was a "sink" specifically designed with a large drain for drinkers to through-up into.
