travel europe italy veneto laguna veneto

The Laguna Veneto, or Venetian Lagoon, is the setting for the islands of Venezia including Venice, Murano, Burano, and others.
Its great to take a break from the crowds of Venice and get out on the water to enjoy a little cool breeze and get away from some of the crowds.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the other, mostly unpopulated, little pieces of land nearly swollowed up by the lagoon... some with interresting ruins.
Notice how there are traffic lanes laid out with pilings all over the lagoon for boat traffic.
