The Red Onion Saloon is Skagway's version of the gold rusher's bar...saloon downstairs and women of "negotiable affections" upstairs.
In 2012, we found the Red Onion much more fun and intimate than Ketchikan's Red Dog Saloon.
All-in-all, a lot of fun and tastey simple fare.
We returned in 2022 and found The Red Onion had lost a lot of its sponteneity and the waitresses were rather surely.
In addition, they had dropped the great meatball sandwich from their menu and replaced it with common chips and salsa and simple pizza...
