DESIGNER: ROBINSON JEFFERS (1919)

Tor House was designed by California poet Robinson Jeffers who named it for the stone outcropping on which it was built.
Jeffers worked as an apprentice under builder Mike Murphy for it's construction and later did the stonework on the tower.
It features some nice stone work and has a comfortable old English garden feel to the grounds.
As an architect who has built some of his own designs, I found I felt a sort of kinship with Jeffers.
