Tahkenitch Lake is a large lake located on the Oregon Coast between Florence and Reedsport.
I kayaked the southeast end of the lake with a friend, Cindy, and three of her friends on a geochache hunt.
The day was beautiful, sunny and warm yet mild.
I got to see some new country in detail that I had been driving past for many years.
We encountered osprey and two bald eagles durring our excursion.
We traversed between 4 and 5 miles including Mallard and Bedolf Arms of the Lake.
This being only my second trip in my new kayak, my old muscles paid a mighty price that night.
