My son took us to lunch for the first time at Teote where they specialize in South American cuisine.
The restaurant is very informal, especially the main entry room where you order from a counter.
Your food is then brought to your table either at inside tables or out on the rear patio which is reached by first going upstairs and then back down again.
We ate on the patio that remined me greatly of places in Big Sur (California) with funky artwork, sculptures, and repurposed doors, woodwork, and metal.
I ordered a Teote Plate that included beans, rice, salad, fried plantains, verde sauce, plantain sauce, bico and one buttered arepa.
You can choose your meat from the Arepas Menu which includes "El Diablo," "Pabellon," "Smokey Pollo," "Chorizo," "Mole," "Pernil" or "Reina Pepiada."
I had the Pabellon, a slow cooked beef brisket shredded with sweet peppers and onions.
It was just "zesty" enough from the peppers and not over-whelming.
A forkfull of the beans, rice and fried plantains was a devine combination.
All in all, on that day I had an excellent meal...
