travel cruising the world grimaldi line patras to brindisi

In 1984, we took an over-night bus from Athens to Patras to catch the ferry to Brindisi, Italy.
We arrived in Patras late in the afternoon and sat around the terminal until 8:30 pm before we could board.
We slept in a pullman berth for four and awoke about 5:30 am when the ferry stopped in Igoumenitsa.
Some of the photos below are of the port at Igoumenitsa in the early morning light.

My greatest memory of this portion of our trip was missing the famous Corinthian Canal...
The bus actually stopped there for a 15 minute rest stop, but I didn't know where we were, and the land was so flat,
and I wasn't paying attention to the "short" bridge we had just crossed...
I wondered why the bus was stopping out here in the middle of nowhere....beneath the bridge was the famous canal...
