My first big tiling job was for my Sunhollow House Residence in Burbank, California, in 1976.
Professional tilers had first laid the whole job... they didn't follow specifications and left out the mesh underlayment.
I had to remove the tile with a sledge hammer before reinstalling it myself.
Other major tiling work was on my Turnstone Cove and Driftwood Residences in Yachats, Oregon.

Hands-on tile installation experience on the Sunhollow Residence included removal of improperly installed tile and reinstalling all new tile in the open Hallway.
Also installed was tile around the fireplace.
